Lets Meet

I usually like to meet with you and your fiancée over a coffee or wine to make sure I’m the right celebrant for you. If you’re interstate or just too busy we can arrange to meet over FaceTime or Skype.

Set the Date

If we've clicked and I'm available on your date, let's lock it in! I will supply a contract of services and an invoice for your booking fee ($250).  From there, we will start designing your bespoke ceremony.

The Legal Stuff

We can do this during the first catch up if you are keen. The Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form needs to be completed at least a month before your wedding date, but it's always best to get it done as soon as we can. I'll need to sight your birth certificate or passport as well as another form of ID. Your signatures on the NOIM then needs to be witnessed. I can do this as a Commonwealth Registered Marriage Celebrant and a Justice of the Peace (Qual). This documentation stays with me, and I use it to lodge all the other required paperwork with the office of Births, Deaths and Marriages to ensure your marriage is legal.

Let's Tie the Knot!

I'll liaise with your wedding planner/venue co-ordinator in the lead up to your wedding day to ensure I'm across everything I need to know. I'll let them know I'll be there at least 30mins before your ceremony with my PA if it's required.

On the day, you'll both sign an official marriage certificate as well as a copy of it and your commemorative marriage certificate. The paperwork will need to be signed by 2 witnesses who can be anyone!

Marriage Certificate

Once the ceremony is completed and you are off celebrating with your nearest and dearest as your photographer and/or videographer are grabbing all the amazing footage of your special day, I will sneak off into the sunset and head home to lodge the paperwork. When this is processed by Births, Deaths and Marriages you are officially registered and are legally married! Congratulations!

You will receive your official marriage certificate between 1-2 weeks post your wedding day.

Changing Your Name

Thinking of changing your name? You can start the name change process as soon as your official marriage certificate arrives! Easy Name Change can help you, saving you going through the application and ID check later. Simply show the certificate to any companies requesting it when you request your accounts are updated.

Unfortunately, each company has a different form, process and proof requirements. If you’re not a fan of research or filling in forms, then consider using a name change kit. Simply check off the companies to notify and Easy Name Change will send you a custom pack of forms. Attach your marriage certificate or other proof necessary and send!

Ready to get the party started?

Get in touch, I'd love the chance to get to hear all about you and your love story over a coffee, wine or a doggy playdate!
